SHARP Protection Team Karachi conducted a Capacity-Building Training with Lawyers on Human Rights, International Protection & the Legal Framework for Vulnerable (Migrant) Communities on 30 December 2025 at Mehran Hotel, Karachi.
In this shifting protection context, the training aimed to:
Enhance lawyers’ understanding of the post-IFRP legal framework Clarify the application of the Foreigners Act, 1946 and related laws Strengthen grounding in international protection principles & commitments Build awareness on the protection needs of women, children & other vulnerable groups Promote ethical, safe, and responsible legal practice in high-risk environments Equip lawyers with harm-reduction and due-process approaches in current scenarios.Participants from the Karachi Bar Association and Malir Bar Association actively engaged in discussions and case-based learning, reaffirming the crucial role of legal practitioners in safeguarding dignity, rights, and access to justice for migrants and displaced communities.
