SHARP team in Timergara successfully conducted a capacity-building workshop for 34 Levies officials in Batkhela. The initiative aimed to strengthen their understanding of human rights, international protection, and legal frameworks concerning displaced Afghan populations.
The workshop featured a series of focused sessions covering SHARP and IOM mandates, national and international human rights laws, the Juvenile Justice System Act 2018, and the Torture and Custodial Death (Prevention and Punishment) Act 2022. A dedicated session on international protection mechanisms further enhanced participants’ legal awareness and response capabilities.
SHARP’s key team members, including Ms. Farhat Bibi (Field Manager), Mr. Noman Rahim (Lawyer), and Mr. Salman Farooq (Protection Officer), facilitated the training with meaningful presentations and interactive discussions, encouraging engagement and knowledge-sharing throughout the event.
We were honored to host Deputy Commissioner Mr. Hameed Ur Rehman as Chief Guest, along with ADC Mr. Muheeb Ullah, ACs Ms. Hania Shah and Ms. Shaista Gul Khattak, and Subedar Major Mr. Samiullah Khan. Their presence reflected strong institutional support for capacity building in the region.
The session concluded with a Q&A and closing remarks by Ms. Farhat, who reaffirmed SHARP’s unwavering commitment to advancing protection mechanisms and supporting duty bearers in delivering rights-based services to displaced communities.
