Demonstrating its impactful contribution to strengthening human rights protection and the rule of law, SHARP Protection Team successfully conducted a two-day capacity-building training workshop for 20 Public Prosecutors in Lahore.
Project Manager, Ms. Huma Aziz welcomed the participants and outlined SHARP’s mandate to protect migrants’ rights. Mr. Aala Imran, Advocate (Resource Person), presented on human rights and fundamental rights. Protection Paralegals Ms. Ayesha and Mr. Anwar Shah led sessions on the international legal framework for forcibly displaced persons, while Ms. Mahdia Maqbool and Mr. Muhammad Usman covered the Foreigners Act, 1946. Senior Protection Expert, Mr. Rana Azeem delivered a session on the legal, administrative, and policy framework for displaced Afghan nationals in Pakistan.
In his closing remarks, Chief Guest Mr. Syed Farhad Ali Shah, Prosecutor General Punjab, who appreciated SHARP’s vision and efforts in promoting human rights awareness and assured continued collaboration.Workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants by the Chief Guest.
