SHARP, prioritizing institutional capacity-building and human resource development, organized a workshop in Peshawar for 30 senior officials of the Commissionerate for Afghan Refugees (CAR).
The training aimed to strengthen institutional knowledge on international protection frameworks, durable solutions, and the evolving refugee context in Pakistan. Ms. Memoona (Project Director) opened with an overview of objectives, followed by presentations from Mr. Salman Farooq (Protection Officer), Mr. Manzoor Ali (Manager Legal), Mr. Sahibzada Younas (UNHCR), Mr. Fazal Rabi (Director CAR KP), and Mr. Hamza (IOM), each offering critical perspectives on refugee protection and policy.
In his closing remarks, CEO Mr. Mudassar Javed thanked participants and emphasized capacity-building as key to effective policy, advocacy, and service delivery. As Chief Guest, Mr. Shakeel Muhammad Khan Safi, Commissioner for Afghan Refugees KP, commended SHARP for leading such a meaningful initiative, highlighting its importance in strengthening institutional capacities and advancing refugee protection.
The workshop concluded with certificate distribution, reaffirming the collective commitment to refugee protection in Pakistan.
