SHARP Protection Team successfully convened a Stakeholders Consultative Meeting in Karachi, aimed at enhancing coordination and strengthening the protection and legal aid framework for displaced Afghans. The forum served as a strategic platform to assess existing referral mechanisms, identify service gaps, and promote integrated, sustainable service delivery models.
Distinguished guests, including Mr. Amir Khan (National Protection Officer, Protection) and Mr. Hafeez Kakar (Senior Protection Assistant, UNHCR), shared critical insights into the current protection environment and stressed the importance of unified collaboration. The event drew active participation from UNHCR’s implementing partners, the International Medical Corps (IMC), government representatives, and civil society stakeholders, enriching the dialogue and laying groundwork for improved coordination.
The meeting was honored by the presence of Mr. Quaim Uddin, Commissioner for Afghan Refugees, Sindh, as Chief Guest. He applauded SHARP and its partners for their continued dedication and emphasized the need for collective efforts to ensure effective protection and assistance for displaced communities, especially amid growing challenges.
