On the eve of #HumanRightsDay 2024, the ALAC Islamabad team marked the conclusion of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) earlier today with a vibrant and meaningful celebration. The event featured a colourful cake-cutting ceremony graced by Chairman SHARP, Syed Liaqat Banori, alongside team members. The occasion symbolized the collective dedication and tireless efforts of the team in raising awareness about GBV throughout the campaign.
Speaking at the event, Chairman Mr. Banori, emphasized the organization’s unwavering commitment to addressing GBV: “At SHARP, we firmly believe that creating a society free from gender-based violence is a shared responsibility. I commend the ALAC team for their inspiring work and dedication to this critical cause.”
The celebration was followed by a dynamic awareness campaign at a popular shopping mall in Islamabad. Here, the ALAC team engaged with the public, sharing vital information about GBV, its impacts, and actionable strategies to combat it. Visitors actively participated by signing a commitment poster, expressing solidarity and support for ending GBV in all forms.
These efforts reflect SHARP’s ongoing mission to build a safer, more equitable society for everyone. Together, we remain steadfast in our resolve to challenge and eliminate gender-based violence.
