Three Back-to-Back Capacity-Building Workshops at the Police Training School, Rawat, Rawalpindi

SHARP’s Protection Team in Islamabad demonstrated its commitment to strengthening law enforcement capacities by successfully organizing three back-to-back capacity-building workshops at the Police Training School, Rawat, Rawalpindi. Over 150 police officials, undergoing training for promotion as Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), actively participated in this intensive three-day learning initiative.

The workshops focused on critical areas, including Human Rights, national and international legal frameworks, constitutional writs of Pakistan, and Sections 100 & 491 of the CrPC, while also sensitizing participants to the protection needs of vulnerable displaced Afghan nationals.

Led by SHARP’s legal experts, the sessions featured interactive discussions, case studies, group activities, and pre- and post-tests designed to bridge theory with practice. IOM representatives further reaffirmed their continued support for advancing capacity-building efforts in the law enforcement sector.

Senior officials of the Police Training School commended SHARP’s professionalism and emphasized the significance of such initiatives in equipping police officials to serve as frontline defenders of justice and human rights.

Project Director Mr. Aatif Afzal and Project Manager Ms. Faiza Mir also extended their appreciation to the participants for their active engagement and to the Police Department for its invaluable support throughout the workshops.
