SHARP successfully organized a two-day orientation workshop for its Protection Team from Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, and Attock. Held in the scenic setting of Murree, the workshop aimed to strengthen the team’s understanding of project objectives, protocols, and best practices under the ongoing and extended protection initiatives.
Day 1: The session was hosted by Syed Muhammad Saleem (Project Manager), while Mr. Mudassar Javed, CEO SHARP, warmly welcomed participants with encouraging remarks about the vital role the protection team plays in delivering quality services to vulnerable communities. Ms. Arooj (FM) opened the session with an introduction to SHARP, followed by presentations from Syed Muhammad Saleem and Ms. Aneela Sarfaraz (Senior Protection Legal Expert) on previous project achievements and the upcoming phase.
Ms. Shandana and Mr. Habib Kareem shared insights on SHARP’s legal aid services, while Mr. Shah Faisal (Senior Protection Legal Expert, Lahore) highlighted strategies for legal advice and counselling. Mr. Raheem (M&E Officer) led a session on monitoring, reporting, and data tools, and Mr. Jahanzaib Aftab (Senior Admin AHRO) briefed the team on HR policies and compliance procedures. Day one concluded with an engaging team-building exercise, fostering collaboration and camaraderie, followed by insightful closing remarks from Mr. Aatif Afzal (Project Director), who emphasized the importance of unity, shared purpose, and professional integrity in advancing SHARP’s mission.
Day 2: Day two opened with Ms. Hina Saleem (Media & Communications Coordinator) presenting SHARP’s media and communication protocols, followed by Mr. Saud (Security Focal Person), who briefed the team on safety and security procedures. Mr. Zeeshan Ahmed (IT Officer) covered essential IT protocols and digital security practices. Ms. Huma Aziz (AHRM) led an interactive session on the Code of Conduct, using group activities to enhance understanding. Mr. Irfan Shujra (Finance Manager) and Mr. Javed Chandia (Senior Procurement Officer) shared key insights on financial and procurement policies, reinforcing principles of compliance and transparency. Ms. Memoona Batool (Project Director KP) delivered an inspiring overview of SHARP’s protection initiatives in KP, highlighting the organization’s core values. The day concluded with Mr. Manzor Ali (Legal Manager KP) presenting on the protection legal framework and challenges concerning Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders.
SHARP’s leadership, Mr. Mudassar and Mr. Aatif, delivered heartfelt closing remarks and extended a token of thanks, commending the Protection Team for their dedication. They encouraged the team to continue their impactful work with unwavering commitment, compassion, and a strong sense of professionalism. The participants concluded the workshop with enhanced practical knowledge, a clearer understanding of organizational policies, and renewed motivation to serve refugee communities with dignity and dedication.
