In partnership with UNHCR Pakistan, SHARP team in Mardan successfully organized a two-day capacity-building workshop in Sawat for Public Prosecutors from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The workshop aimed to enhance both the theoretical understanding and practical skills of participants. It focused on key thematic areas, including the core principles of human rights, UNHCR’s mandate and the international protection framework, the legal status of Afghan refugees in Pakistan, and the constitutional roles, responsibilities, and powers of Public Prosecutors in KP.
SHARP Mardan team, led by Ms. Memoona Batool, Project Director KP, and Mr. Muhammad Rafiq, Field Manager, actively facilitated the sessions in collaboration with representatives from UNHCR, the Commissionerate for Afghan Refugees (CAR), and the Prosecution Department. Their collective expertise and active engagement enriched the discussions, deepening participants’ understanding of refugee protection and rights-based prosecution practices.
This initiative reflects SHARP’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the justice sector, promote human rights, and enhance legal protections for vulnerable communities.
