On 23rd of April 2019, SHARP/SDC Kohat organized a one Day workshop for Media, NGOs and civil societies at Press Club, Kohat-KP Pakistan. Participants were sensitized on ‘’Human Rights, Refugee Rights and International Protection’’.
Ms. Memona Batool Khan (Project Director KP), formally greeted the participants, followed by detail presentation on working spheres of SHARP, SDC & UNHCR. Participants were briefed in detail about the UN Refugee Convention 1951 and its mandate for the protection of refugee’s rights. Current status of Afghan refugees in Pakistan and the working mechanism of SHARP for providing free legal aid and assistance to afghan refugees were explained in detail. Ms. Yumna Abbas, Councilor CBP, delivered an impressive presentation on Stress Management. Mr. Ghias Gilani Field Manager Kohat , presented detailed presentation on ‘’Human rights in Islam’’.
Session was concluded by Mr. Saleem Altaf Chairman Karwan-e-Amal ( chief guest),who thanked SHARP team for conducting such comprehensive and productive session and recommended the dire need of such workshops in future.
