With a firm commitment to promoting justice and protection for all, SHARP’s ALAC-1 team conducted a focused capacity-building training for police officials in Attock. A total of 30 officers, including 8 female officials, took part in the full-day session aimed at enhancing their knowledge of human rights, refugee law, and the international legal obligations of Pakistan.
Ms. Tayba, Program Officer, opened the session by sharing SHARP’s mission and services for vulnerable communities. Mr. Taufiq Ahmed, ALAC Team Lead, engaged participants in an interactive session on the practical application of human rights in policing. Representing UNHCR, Ms. Ghazal delivered a compelling talk on the rights of refugees and asylum seekers under the international protection framework.
The training was honored by DSP Mr. Iftikhar (legal), who praised SHARP’s continued efforts in empowering law enforcement. He encouraged more frequent collaborations to build a rights-respecting policing culture. At the close, certificates were awarded to all participants, while a souvenir was presented to the Chief Guest in appreciation of his support.
