Striving for a Human Rights friendly Pakistan

One Day Capacity Building Training for Police Officials at Police Lines Lahore

ALAC-II team recently organized a high-level training workshop at the Police Training School, Police Lines, Lahore, bringing together 42 senior police officials, including DSPs, Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors, SHOs, and IOs. The workshop aimed to deepen law enforcement’s understanding of Human Rights and Refugee Rights within their professional framework.
 
The session was honored by the presence of Ms. Munazza Karamat, SP (Civil Lines), and featured expert-led discussions by Ms. Arooj Un Nissa (Field Manager), Ms. Ghazala Mirza (UNHCR Representative), and Mr. Usman Ghani (Director Legal, CAR Punjab). The trainers emphasized the constitutional guarantees and international human rights conventions that guide law enforcement, highlighting the police’s pivotal responsibility to uphold justice, dignity, and equality for every individual—regardless of nationality or status.
 
The initiative reaffirmed SHARP’s commitment to strengthening the capacity of law enforcement agencies, enabling them to foster a protection-oriented environment for refugees and all persons of concern in Pakistan.
