The Embassy of Switzerland /SDC had high-level delegation from HQ Bern. On 30th of Jan 2019, the SDC’s mission colleagues including: H.E. Mr. Kolly Thomas (Ambassador of Switzerland), Mr. Daniel Valenghi, ( Deputy Head of Cooperation, Embassy of Switzerland, SDC Pakistan), Ms. Sabine Rosenthaler (Desk Officer for Pakistan, Humanitarian Aid of the SDC, HQ Bern) and Mr. Khursheed Ahmed (Senior Program Officer SDC Pakistan) visited the Gandaf Refugee camp in Swabi.
The SDC has been working in the camp, through ICMC and SHARP, to provide WASH and protection support to Afghan refugees. The visit provided opportunity to the SDC’s colleagues including their HQ staff to have an overview of the Afghan refugee context in Pakistan as well as recent development around this thematic. Mission was warmly welcomed by Mr. Mudassar Javed (Director-SHARP Pakistan), Ms. Memoona Batool Khan (Director-SHARP Pakistan Peshawar), ICMC staff and SHARP-SDC field staff from Mardan office.
The delegation joined the legal camp activity and community members openly discussed various issues and concerns with the mission and highly appreciated the engagement of SDC, SHARP and ICMC on various activities. The SDC’s mission highly admired the efforts of the SHARP and ICMC staff.
