Training of Local Government Officials (Swat)

A one day training of Local Govt officials on “Human Rights & Refugees Status in Pakistan” was successfully held on 27th June. SHARP team arranged and conducted the Training/Workshop with 36 local government officials at PTDC Motel, Swat on 27 June, 2019 on “Human rights and refugee’s status in Pakistan”.

Main topics included  International Protection to promote their respect for Afghan Refugees in context of Human Rights, refugee right, legal status of the refugees and International Protection and to cooperate in promoting and encouraging respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms without distinction as to race, sex, language or religion while contributing to fair and equitable justice.

The training was basically aimed for enhancing the capacity of local government officials in which various stake holders from district government including district members, Safety commission member, Tehsil Nazim, different Councilors participated.

Mr. Fawad Khan Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Swat, facilitated the session on Human Rights in the light of National and International Laws.

Mr. Abdul Jabbar khan District Naib Nazim, swat carried the discussion further and expressed his views. He was also the guest of honor. While District Nazim of Swat honored the session as a Chief Guest.

Mr. Ikram Khan, Tehsil Nazim Babuzai, welcomed all the participants and explained that law is very much essential due to which people are enjoying their rights. He further explained  specific rights for women and elderly persons in international human rights law and how people can exercise these rights easily.

Mr. Muhammad Ali Shah (District Nazim Swat) expressed his views and thanked all the participants for joining this session. He also thanked SHARP and its team for conducting such a fruitful session on human rights and refugee rights for awareness.

Mr. Liaqat Banori Chairman SHARP-Pakistan thanked the chief guest Mr. Muhammad Ali Shah district Nazim, Swat and Mr. Fawad Khan Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), swat and also all the participants for taking interest in the session.

A certificate distribution ceremony was held to distribute the certificate among the participants.

Honorary shields were also awarded to the chief guest Mr. Muhammad Ali Shah and Guest of Honor Mr. Fawad Khan.
