SHARP protection project team in Islamabad recently organized a one-day Capacity-Building Training Workshop with the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), focusing on Human Rights and the Status of Registered Refugees in Pakistan. The workshop aimed to sensitize CTD officials on their critical role in safeguarding refugee rights and addressing the legal and human rights challenges faced by Afghan refugees.
Participants were welcomed by Mr. Syed Muhammad Saleem, Project Coordinator, who also provided an insightful overview of SHARP’s activities. The training was facilitated by SHARP’s Senior Protection Experts Ms. Angela Sarfaraz and Ms. Shandana, alongside Protection Lawyers Mr. Habib Kareem and Mr. Anwar Shah, who provided in-depth insights into refugee protection frameworks and challenges.
The Senior Superintendent of Police Islamabad, Mr. Muhammad Iqbal graced the event as the Chief Guest. In his address, he appreciated SHARP dedicated efforts in ensuring the protection of refugees’ rights and promoting their dignity and well-being. As a token of appreciation, a shield was presented to Mr. Iqbal for his valuable time and support.
