SHARP Protection team conducted a one-day Capacity Building Workshop on Refugee Law, focusing on international and national concepts of Human Rights, at the Islamabad Bar Council, with 40 lawyers in attendance. The session commenced with welcome remarks from SHARP CEO Mr. Mudassar Javed, followed by an introduction to the organization’s objectives and efforts by Executive Member Mr. Arif Khan.
Led by Ms. Shandana and Ms. Gul-e-Khuban, Protection Lawyers, the workshop focused on enhancing the participating lawyers’ understanding and practical application of Refugee Law, International Humanitarian Law, and UN Conventions.
While addressing the closing ceremony, SHARP Chairman Mr. Liaqat Banori emphasized the importance of equipping legal professionals with the knowledge to protect refugee rights. Chief guest Mr. Adil Aziz Qazi, Vice Chairman of Islamabad Bar Council, praised SHARP for its critical role in equipping young lawyers with the necessary skills to support Afghan nationals.
The event concluded with Mr. Liaqat Banori presenting a commemorative shield to Mr. Adil Aziz Qazi for his valuable support and participation in the workshop.
