SHARP Haripur Team Organized Two-day Consultative Workshop for Public Prosecutors from KP in Nathiagali

SHARP Haripur team organized a two-day consultative workshop in Nathiagali for public prosecutors from KP, focusing on Human Rights, International Protection, and the Status of Registered Refugees in Pakistan.
 
Session proceedings commenced by Mr. Sahibzada Younas from UNHCR Peshawar, followed by opening remarks by SHARP Project Director KP, Ms. Memoona Batool Khan, who highlighted the organization’s long-standing commitment to human rights and refugee protection, emphasizing SHARP’s dedication to empowering communities, fostering justice, and strengthening legal frameworks to ensure the safety and dignity of vulnerable individuals.
 
The first day of the workshop featured insightful sessions, starting with an overview of UNHCR’s activities in Pakistan by Mr. Abid Ullah. This was followed by an engaging discussion on human rights led by Mr. Nadeem Farida from Khyber Law College. Ms. Alvina Shah, Assistant Director of the Prosecution Department, shared her expertise on effective court procedures, offering valuable guidelines for handling legal cases involving refugees and vulnerable communities.
 
On the second day, Mr. Muzafar Khan from UNHCR presented an informative session on the legal framework and the current status of Afghan refugees in Pakistan. The workshop concluded with a session by Mr. Sangeet Shah, District Public Prosecutor, who provided valuable insights into case management, discharge of cases, and trafficking in persons. This workshop strengthened prosecutors’ understanding of human rights and refugee protection issues, enhancing their capacity to address these critical concerns.
