Empowering women in the legal field to champion human rights, a capacity-building training was held in Lahore under the protection project, engaging 22 female lawyers from the Lahore Bar Association. The session focused on strengthening understanding of national and international human rights frameworks and enhancing participants’ capacity to advocate for vulnerable and marginalized communities.
The session was facilitated by Ms. Huma (Project Manager) and Mr. Zohrab Ahmed (Project Officer), who provided a comprehensive introduction to the organization. The training was further facilitated by Mr. Azeem (Senior Protection and Legal Expert), along with Ms. Mahdia and Mr. Usman (Protection Lawyers), who shared detailed insights on key human rights principles, relevant legal instruments, and their practical application within national and international contexts.
The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Irfan Hayat Bajwa, President, Lahore Bar Association, who attended as the Chief Guest and appreciated the initiative aimed at empowering female lawyers through specialized legal training. Mr. Usman Ghani, Director Legal at the Commissionerate for Afghan Refugees (CAR) Office, also joined the session and shared valuable remarks highlighting the importance of legal awareness and professional capacity building in addressing human rights concerns.
The session concluded with engaging discussions, with participants appreciating the opportunity to build their knowledge and support access to justice.
