SHARP ALAC team successfully organized a one-day Sensitization Workshop for police officials at the Legend Hotel in Lower Chitral. The workshop focused on international protection, human rights, and refugee status in Pakistan. This critical event was honored by the presence of UNHCR senior protection officer Mr. David Malba, and Field Officer Mr. Sahibzada Younas, who provided invaluable insights on refugee protection and the role of law enforcement in upholding human rights.
DPO Chitral Mr. Ifakhar Ali Shah participate as the Chief Guest, while Project Director KP Ms. Memoona and DA Chitral Mr. Farman, led the sessions alongside their legal team.
Together, they facilitated discussions aimed at deepening participants’ understanding of the legal frameworks governing refugee rights in Pakistan and the duties of law enforcement in safeguarding these rights. The workshop served as an important step toward fostering cooperation between police officials and humanitarian actors to ensure that refugees are treated with dignity and respect, in accordance with international standards.
