SHARP Pakistan Launched 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence (GBV)

SHARP Pakistan has officially launched the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) with an impactful awareness session organized for Afghan refugees. Project Director Mr. Aatif Afzal opened the session by highlighting the urgent need to address GBV issues and emphasized this year’s theme: UNiTE to End Violence Against Women.

During the session, Chairman SHARP Syed Liaqat Banori reaffirmed SHARP’s unwavering commitment to combating GBV. “Ending gender-based violence is not just a responsibility—it is a moral imperative. At SHARP, we believe in creating a society where no woman or girl lives in fear. To achieve this, we must stand united, amplify our voices, and take collective action. Society, lawmakers, civil society, and the government can eliminate GBV and build a peaceful, inclusive future”.

SHARP CEO Mr. Mudassar Javed shared, “According to recent research, every 10 minutes, a woman loses her life to violence which demands immediate and sustained action. Tackling this issue head-on is essential for building a progressive, just, and equitable society.

The participants expressed heartfelt gratitude to SHARP’s leadership for organizing such an informative session. They assured to become advocates for change by raising awareness within their communities and actively contributing to collective efforts to eliminate gender-based violence.

SHARP Pakistan remains deeply committed to standing at the forefront of the fight against GBV. Through campaigns, community engagement, and collaboration with partners, SHARP continues to champion the rights of women and girls, fostering a society where equality and dignity prevail.
