Another day of learning and professional development marked Day 3 of the SHARP-Women Capacity Building Programme at the Sindh Judicial Academy, Karachi. Supported by the German Embassy Islamabad, the programme continues to equip young women lawyers with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed for professional growth.
Following an interactive recap by Ms. Qurat ul Ain, Team Lead, Karachi, participants attended expert-led sessions by Mr. Anwar Mahar, Deputy Public Prosecutor; Mr. Tanvir Ahmad Tahir, AIGP HR & Gender Crimes; Dr. Anam Tajjamul, SP Investigation; Mr. Naveed Ahmad Somroo, District & Sessions Judge; Mr. Kapil Dev, Gender Specialist, Reform Support Unit, Government of Sindh; and Dr. Summaiya Syed, Chief Police Surgeon.
The sessions focused on justice sector coordination, judicial processes, ethical legal practice, referral mechanisms, medico-legal procedures, and professional collaboration across institutions.
A special highlight of the day was an inspiring address by Dr. Syeda Shahida Rehmani, Chairperson, Women’s Parliamentary Caucus and Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, who shared her professional journey and encouraged participants to pursue their careers with confidence, resilience, and a commitment to public service.
Under the leadership of Mr. Aatif Afzal, Project Director, SHARP Pakistan, the programme continued with an engaging learning environment. He also conducted a session on the Role of Women Lawyers in Digital Advocacy, highlighting the effective use of digital platforms for legal awareness and professional engagement.
