Advancing protection through partnership and practice, SHARP, in collaboration with UNHCR, conducted a training session at the RPO Office Conference Hall, Multan, focusing on human rights and refugee protection for law enforcement officials.
Mr. Aatif Afzal, Project Director, led the opening session on constitutional human rights, fundamental rights, and principles of policy, linking legal frameworks with practical policing contexts. Ms. Ghazala Mirza, Senior Protection Officer UNHCR, followed with an insightful session on the current protection landscape and legal obligations under international and domestic refugee protection frameworks. Ms. Farzana Kousar (Lawyer) introduced SHARP’s mandate and its role in promoting rights-based approaches.
Concluding the session, Mr. Usman Akram Ghondal, PSP (RPO Multan), appreciated the joint efforts of SHARP and UNHCR, noting that in a rapidly evolving human rights environment, such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening protection and promoting inclusive, rights-based policing.
A souvenir shield was presented to Mr. Usman Akram Ghondal as a token of appreciation for his support and collaboration.
