Two capacity-building workshops for police officials in Attock

As part of its commitment to safeguarding communities in need, SHARP organized two capacity-building workshops for police officials in Attock under the protection project. These workshops aimed to strengthen knowledge of human rights, migrants’ rights, and ethical, people-centered policing.

While opening the session, SHARP Project Director Mr. Aatif Afzal welcomed the participants and highlighted SHARP’s humanitarian mandate, protection initiatives, and collaboration with law enforcement, emphasizing the pivotal role of police in delivering justice, upholding human dignity, and implementing rights-based practices in daily policing.
A total of 87 police officials participated in interactive sessions led by Mr. Aimal Khan, SHARP Protection Lawyer, and Ms. Soharwardia, Protection Lawyer. Participants explored national and international human rights frameworks, ethical policing principles, and the protection needs of communities in need through case discussions, group exercises, and practical applications.

Mr. Khurram Shahzad (DSP Attock) and Police Line Officer Muhammad Rafique distributed certificates and commended SHARP’s efforts in promoting rights-focused policing. In appreciation of their support and engagement, SHARP presented them with shields of recognition.

Facilitated by Mr. Inkisar and Ms. Irum Gul, the workshops reinforced the importance of civil society-law enforcement collaboration in promoting justice, safeguarding communities in need, and strengthening community-centered protection mechanisms.
