Reinforcing its commitment to strengthening the capacity of law enforcement officials, SHARP–ALAC III Mianwali organized a police training workshop on “Human Rights & Refugee Laws,”. A total of 28 police officials, including 24 male and 4 female officers, participated in the training.
Project Director (ICT) Mr. Aatif Afzal delivered an interactive session on Human Rights, covering core principles, legal frameworks, and historical evolution, with a focus on practical application in law enforcement contexts. Participants were engaged through discussions and contextual examples to strengthen their understanding of rights-based approaches.
Field Manager Mianwali Mr. Imran Yousafzai, conducted a comprehensive session, with online support from UNHCR representative Ms. Ghazala Mirza, on International Refugee Law and the status of Afghan refugees in Pakistan, highlighting UNHCR’s protection mandate, national policy context, and key developments, including the Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Plan (IFRP) and associated protection risks.
Participants appreciated the relevance and practical value of the sessions. The workshop concluded with certificate distribution.
